Abstract: From 1995 to 2010, great change had taken placed in the image of divorced females in the Chinese American new immigrant novels. In American Dream, American Love, American Lover to Gone Daily Trip, the divorce of heroines becomes reasonable. It can be regarded as the new female immigrants’ forceful response to the patriarchy, but marriage morality is still the main theme of the novels. In Traces the US (1996) by Zhang Ci in America, the heroine Xie Siyu disobeyed marriage morality to dissolve patriarchy, showing unusual radical female consciousness in Chinese American new immigrant novels.

Key words: Chinese American new immigrant novels, divorced women, marriage morality.
