Abstract: Great opportunities and challenges have been provided to Guangxi because of the development strategy of constructing the 21st Century Maritime Silk Road. Under this circumstance, it is significant to promote the cocoon and silk industry of Guangxi. Combining the industrial convergence theory with the cocoon and silk industry is of help to make full use of its positive effects. Under the guidance of the industrial convergence, we should promote the cocoon and silk industry to optimize and upgrade in the phases of planting, breeding, processing, circulation etc. and extend the industry chain. What’s more, with the help of the government, supports and safeguards can be provided to the convergence of the cocoon and silk industry. In this way, the improvement of resource utilizing efficiency, economic benefits, industrial competitiveness and the optimization of supply chain, can all be realized.
