Abstract: When the Han Dynasty ruled Lingnan, its administrative districts there were often named after the informal names of the local mountains and rivers. Based on the interpretation of “Linchen” in Zhuang Language, it is certain that Linchen County was located where the Jinnan, Zhuya and Qunli Rivers meet in the Han Dynasty. Literature research shows that the Jinnan, Zhuya, Guan and Qunli Rivers are correspondingly the Zuo, Shuikou, You and Ming Rivers now. Therefore, a more exact location of Linchen County should be the locality of Shangjin Township in Longzhou County, not Chongshan County. In addition, according to the geographical scope of ancient Luo Yue and District Map of Jiaozhi Feudal Provincial in the Western Han Dynasty, the locality of Shangjin and Longzhou Counties was exactly the center connected the Yujiang River with the Red River of the ancient Luo Yue, and the water transportation junction of these two river basins, and possessed ideal historical and natural conditions for setting up Linchen County.
