Abstract: The meta-universe is a major event that has swept through all fields of academia and society recently. For this event, in addition to a comprehensive description from the empirical perspective, we also need to launch a profound reflection from the perspective of philosophy. Therefore, we try to introduce the concept of “media event” first, and then reveal the two seemingly opposite distinctive features that it embodies, namely continuous generation, and negative fracture. Our next step is to make a comparison between Deleuze’s and Derrida’s event theories, with an aim to deeply explain a series of contradictory and related dual aspects, namely, internality and transcendence, affirmation and negation, continuity and rupture, and combine the three main points of ontology, timeliness and subjectivity, thus leading to the philosophical clarification of the duality of meta cosmic events. If the affirmation of internality ultimately leads to Nietzsche’s life optimism, the negation of transcendence ultimately results in Sacker’s cosmic pessimism. The meta universe should be a philosophical event that turns from pessimism to optimism, and that awakens hope from despair.
