Abstract: The research of industrial division and spatial economic ties among cities in the Pearl River-Xijiang River economic belt have great significance to discuss and master the characters of industrial division and spatial economic ties, and to promote the rational allocation of resources within the economic belt, and to promote the development of industry specialization among the cities. Research shows that the intensity of specialization is increasing in most cities of the Pearl River-Xijiang River economic belt, but the relative degree of specialization is still low among the large cities of Guangzhou, Nanning and Liuzhou and has not made a great difference until 2013. Industrial structure similarity among cities is higher and has higher convergence around each other. The relative specialization index between Guangzhou and other most cities of the province is in a dynamic upward trend, and the same is with Nanning, and the differences in the internal structure of cities is widened. The cities do not show bigger difference of industrial development, and regional division of labor advantage is unclear. The intensity of economic ties among cities is closer and has bigger enhancement in 2014 especially. Transportation infrastructure, industrial division of labor, natural geographical location and environment, regional coordinated development mechanism are important factors which affect the industrial division and the spatial economic ties of the Pearl River-Xijiang River economic belt.
