Semantic Characteristic of “Dao” and Difference among “Dao”, “Tiao” and “Gen”

Abstract: The semantic characteristics of the quantifier “dao” are not of a planer structure but of a dependent structure. According to the dependent features, we can analyze the whole categorizing process of quantifier “dao” clearly. The difference between “dao” and “tiao” is that the former has dependent features while the latter has independent features. As for the qualifiers “tiao” and “gen”, the former has the function of general reference while for the latter has the function of specific reference.
