Yuan Zhen wrote nearly 300 texts, including Fu, strategy, books, tables, figures, systems, prefaces, inscriptions, and other literary styles. In these articles, Yuan Zhen treats the relationships between parallel prose and prose based on the characteristics and functions of different styles. He stressed that the article should be "suitably elegant and worthwhile." In dealing with relations between parallel prose and prose, the two styles should be flexibly adopted.
