Literary Education Experience in Ancient Chinese Family Instructions and Its Enlightenments

Abstract: In ancient China, noble community used records of family tree genealogy to ensure continuation of descent, family discipline emphasizes on literary education in order to ensure the continuity of family culture. Literary education in ancient Chinese family instruction, in the face of outdated and cumbersome classics, advocating that the essence of reading is "the points", and "the erudite", guiding social creation of poems; ancient Chinese family instruction guides the younger generation to innovate by the experience of self-proclaimed literary creation, and takes innovation as the symbol of "literature", saying that only the innovation of "achieving glory by writing" can "compete" the present and the future "immortal"; ancient Chinese family instruction had different educational concepts, and advocated that literary creation depends on the interest of talents, whether it be natural, implementing the teaching of comprehension, and combining literary education with man’s life, all of which are unique literary education experience of the ancient Chinese family instruction, and show that each family’s “literary” family style has its own uniqueness.
