Abstract: As relocated migrants are labeled as both “farmers” and “citizens”, the duality of their identity and the diversity of relocation methods make their social integration an issue more prominent, more complex and more extensive, and thus a topic more urgent. Through relocation farmers move to the “crossing” space, thus changing their livelihood, communication and management methods, all combined achieving the “liberation” of life. However, farmers confront with headaches in ensuring sustainable livelihoods, reshaping social networks, lack of conventional governance resources and the like, resulting in a “floating” identity. Therefore, we should build a long-term mechanism of mutual support of aspiration and intelligence from the perspectives of individual cultivation, family guidance, community coordination and social support, so as to stimulate the endogenous motivation of relocated farmers in an all-round way; the “reproduction” of economic space, psychological space, service space and resource space of relocated farmers should be realized by means of consolidating economic foundation, strengthening community identity, reshaping community culture, and accelerating community integration.

Key words: relocating the impoverished from inhospitable areas, life politics, poverty alleviation, rural vitalization, spatital reproduction
