Badiou’s Study on the Way of Human Existence —— from the Perspective of Radical Political Philosophy

Abstract: Under the influence of the Western Marxism, Badiou who represents the French left expressed his radical position in the attitude of returning to event-subject-truth philosophy under the new historical stage. In this philosophy, the existing way of humans becomes the core of his thinking. There are three main points as the point of penetration: The first one is to criticize capitalism and uncover the hypocrisy of capitalist democracy in order to highlight the subject status of humans. The second is to realize a role transition from the spectator to the creator in order to illustrate the people’s initiative under the perspective of the event-subject-truth. The last is to take the goal of radical political philosophy as the realization of human freedom and all-around development in order to demonstrate the greatest respect to humans. It is in this interlocking thought that Badiou has stated his ideas of communism by seeking the way of human existence, eventually paving the way for his radical political philosophy.
