Abstract: The widespread application of artificial intelligence has ushered in a new era for education, bringing opportunities and challenges to graduate education in particular. The application of the new generation of artificial intelligence represented by ChatGPT will have a triple substitution of “classroom, teacher, and assessment”, greatly impacting the education model centered on knowledge transfer. At the same time, artificial intelligence has inherent limitations in reality perception, moral education, and emotional expression, rendering it impossible to completely replace human teachers in a short period of time. Additionally, there is a potential to reduce overall learning costs, unleash human innovation capabilities, and promote personalized cultivation of students. As for future graduate education, we should fully grasp the positive and negative functions of artificial intelligence, solve the dilemma of generalization through personalized cultivation, avoid the tendency of virtualization through scenario creation, and transcend technical limitations through ideological guidance, prevent potential risks it has brought, thus promoting transformation in creative and innovative teaching and education.
