Cao Cao’s Imitation of Yue Fu and the Birth of Vigorous Style of Jian An

Abstract: The birth of vigorous style of Jian An starts from the Cao Cao’s imitation of Yue Fu. Rites and music culture construction by Cao Cao promotes the wide spread of Yue Fu of the Han Dynasty at Jian An, and the music foundation of Yue Fu of Han simultaneously makes “the tune imitation” as the main creative method. The ancient Yue Fu method of describing current affairs by Cao Cao breaks the admonishment mode on theme from literatus of Yue Fu in the Han Dynasty. The direct lyricism expands the "universal" lyricism of Yue Fu. Therefore, it sets the keynote of the development of Jian An literature, and leads the creation ethos of Jian An poetry.
