Abstract: The concept of “the sense of practical space” is not put forward explicitly in Marx’s works, but this does not mean the lack of spatial dimension in Marx’s philosophy. In fact, Marx’s philosophy of practical materialism contains logically the basic content and the essence of human nature on the sense of practical space. This is embodied as follows Marx’s historical materialism is a basic dimension toward the real essence and specific characteristics of the human in Marx’s sense of space. Marx constructs a new sense of space by absorbing the past of all sorts of thinking space, according to his philosophical outlook, the view of city and the view of labor. Meanwhile, Marx explains deeply the aesthetic meaning and political connotation of the sense of practical space, opens the humanistic vision on the modern sense of space form the “social person” perspective, maps the basic theme on space theory for the future, and realizes the modern transformation and the profound changes in space research. In this sense, Marx brings significant influence to the study of the view of space than any one modern spatial theorist in the 20th century
