1. According to the 3 assigned necessary conditions for scientific discovery, and after examining disputed propositions, it is argued that only two arguments should be discussed: "Wang Yirong discovery proposition" and "Liu Yu discovery proposition". The reasonable conclusion that conforms to modern academic norms should be "Wang Liu Co-Discovery Proposition". Thus, it is not appropriate to accept “discovery from medicine proposition” into the official textbook. A new version of discovery process is provided. 2. The announcement written by Liu E on "Times Newspaper" in 1904 (first fully published by Journal), which has not yet been known or concerned by the academy today, should be considered as a symbol of the transformation from traditional to the modern Chinese academia. 3. The preface of “Tie Yun Cang Gui” should be recognized as the earliest academic paper to successfully identify and interpret oracle bone inscriptions; Liu E together with Luo Zhenyu and Wu Changshou initiated the Oracle Bone Paleography in 1903. 4. Neither the argumentations on denying Luo’s claims of “Encouraging-Ink copying-Editing ‘Tie Yun Cang Gui’” and that of "Oracle Bone first found in 1901" is untenable. A proposal for the historic new division for the Oracle Bone Paleography is put forward.

The establishment of the position and interpretations of the first chapter of Shang Jing have an important reference significance to determine the theme of Lao Tse and research the evolution of the test. By analyzing the key words in the first chapter of Lao Tse Shang Jing from the new perspective of ancient Chinese Characters such as the explanation of grapheme and the semantic change, after studying on the main idea of this chapter, we can conclude that Lao Tse is about an ideal political model, which makes it clear that it advocates a governing way presenting the individual intrinsic nature and freedom, by reflecting “rite” and promoting “Loyalty and Faith”. Discussing the inner connection between this chapter and other chapters in Lao Tse, we can also find that Lao Tse established the political philosophy. Lao Zi’s political philosophy system centers on “quiet and inaction” and presents the double-subjects structure of king and people. From the perspective of the king, his power and responsibility should be matched, and he should attach great importance to conscience and the accumulation of his virtue, cultivate both his heart and vitality. From the perspective of the people, Lao Zi notes that the king can rely on the morality of his common people, which reflects on “the theory of good nature”. This ideological system of political philosophy presents the logical structure characterized by layer-by-layer inclusion like an onion.

The inscriptions on bronze mirrors began at the end of the Warring States period, flourished in the Han Dynasty, and got new developments in the Tang Dynasty. Compared with that in the Han Dynasty, which was brief and concise, the mirror inscription in the Tang Dynasty was subtle and elegant, good at expressing the writer’s thoughts and feelings in a literary way. A comprehensive comparison of the mirror inscriptions in the Han and Tang Dynasties, with typical themes of praying for blessing, quality boasting and acacia, will not only reveal the similarities and differences in form and content between the two, but also intuitively reflect people’s different life pursuits, social psychology, religious beliefs, feelings of home and country, ideology and culture in the two dynasties.

Marx’s ethical thoughts can provide vital thought resources and methodological basis for us to reflect on and deal with moral relativism, which has not been paid much attention in the field of ethics research so far. The concept of “history” and “practice” are more fundamental bases for the analysis of moral relativism and understanding of Marx’s thoughts. Analyzing the Marxist argument about whether Marx is a moral relativist reflects an either/or mode of thinking. Only in the perspective of historical materialism and in the framework of a dynamic historical process can we truly understand and explain Marx’s moral outlook and make a profound analysis and criticism of moral relativism.

Abstract ( 271 )   PDF(pc) (1598KB) ( 365 )   Save
For the phenomenon of the modernized holocaust, Adorno thinks that it has imposed a new categorical imperative on people. At present the modernized holocaust happens at times, Adorno’s reflection on Auschwitz undoubtedly has contemporary relevance. Different from traditional explanation of modernized holocaust, Adorno thinks that the holocaust is not merely the production of human irrationality or the outcome of disorder of social system which called moral factory. On the contrary, its emergence was accompanied by modernity. Apathy, closely related to the formalization of sense, is regarded as the core principle behind modernity. Therefore, holocaust is not the outcome of irrationality, but “The Banality of Evil” of modern “rational” people. Adorno’s new categorical imperative not only targets people’s behavior in normal society, but also directs at the way people think. The new categorical imperative needs not rational foundation since the possibility of its existence lies in individual’s possession of “ethical additions”.

A comprehensive well-off society is a product of practice, which links human to nature, instead of a theoretical design. Under the circumstance of inevitable globalization, practice has been used as a tool due to the capitalist private ownership and monopolized capital, and further generates global ecological crisis. The establishment of a comprehensive well-off society requires the Marx’s practice outlook. It advocates proper scale for subject, object as well as discarding the dross from the essence. We should maintain the sustainable dimension of purpose, regularity and realm while eliminating the alienation of practice gradually and realizing constant harmony between human and nature, human and society, and among human themselves.

The inherent characters of “clean administration culture in universities and colleges” determine their own construction strategies: The “formal system” and the “informal system” should be combined to achieve “restricting power by authorities” in universities and colleges under the circumstances of “restricting power with power”. The “knowledge” and the “belief” should be integrated, besides the inheritance of the Chinese classical knowledge, the absorption from various angles of the “local knowledge” and the innovation toward “globalized knowledge form”, universities and colleges should also practice from “knowledge” to “belief”, promoting the formation of new values of clean government. The “state-society” construction should be carried out in parallel with each other, and universities and colleges should consolidate the national “grand tradition”; at the same time, they are also the regional centers for promoting the social “small tradition” of supporting clean government.

The cross-strait discourse right is the power of factual description and regulate norms of the Taiwan issue by all parties across the Taiwan Strait. This current power is unevenly distributed among the three major political parties in the Mainland and Taiwan, and is accompanied by corresponding conflict, tension, and even confrontational discourse relations. Based on the three dimensions of the power theory, the paper analyzes the power trajectory of cross-strait political discourse from the core variables of preferences, decision-making, and conflict, and then proposes to change the unilateral dominating myth in the cross-strait discourse power. The cooperative discourse power between Taiwan and the mainland is a new path for the harmonious, inclusive, and all-round development of cross-strait relations.

Language is the “living fossil” of culture. Zhuang language has the features of long history, universality of inheritance, richness of connotation, and subtlety of artistic wisdom. The extensive and profound Zhuang language culture, composed of 13 dialect regions, is the foundation and spirit of Zhuang culture. Based on the perspective of guarding national hearts and souls and continuing the cultural roots, it is necessary to profoundly reflect on the relevance between Zhuang-Han bilingual education and the cultural continuity of the Zhuang people in an effort to promote the conversion of the Zhuang language-led “one-class model” into the Han/Chinese language-led "two-class model". Through the teaching path of “using words to feel the beauty”, “using words to protect the roots”, “using words to develop the roots”, and “using words to spread culture”, it can reconstruct the new model combining “shape and spirit” with “body and soul” of Zhuang-Han bilingual education to promote the deepening development of bilingual education of Zhuang people and the prosperity of Zhuang’s culture.

With the continuous improvement of modernization level, rural juveniles flood into cities. However, when many rural teenagers who have been immersed in rural culture encounter different urban cultures, they not only give up the recognition of rural culture, but also cannot be recognized by urban culture, so rural teenagers generate a sense of cultural identity crisis and become cultural wanderers between urban and rural culture. Cultural identity crisis of rural adolescents includes value identity crisis, individual identity crisis and self-identification crisis. The causes for this problem are manifold. This article analyzes the causes only from the perspective of pedagogy and tries to put forward countermeasures for rural education. Education is the most significant cultural inheritance and communication system in society. The rank of rural education should be corrected; rural school teachers need to guide rural juveniles to reflect on culture; the development and implementation of local and school-based curriculums should be valued to construct the cultural identity among rural juveniles.

Abstract ( 288 )   PDF(pc) (1585KB) ( 525 )   Save
In recent years, mental health problems of rural adolescents have been worrying. General Secretary Xi’s report at the 19th National Congress pointed out that the construction of psychological services should be strengthened. Mental health education work is particularly significant. In a relatively underdeveloped rural area, the decreasing population and lack of teachers result in the phenomenon of multi-school consolidation management and neglect of mental health problems among students. In rural areas, the common psychological problems among primary and secondary school students are that they lack of self-cognition and emotional care and form a sense of inferiority easily; they are short of interpersonal skills, causing intense interpersonal relationships; they produce a mood of study-weariness because of wake study motivation. The main problems existing in mental health education in rural primary and secondary schools are: backward mental health education, torpid action and weak mental health education; deficient resources for psychological counseling in schools and insufficient access to help students; mental health education lacks professional guidance, parents cannot effectively cooperate with school work and schools work alone to struggle with mental health education. In the context of the characteristics of the information era, this paper starts with the home-school cooperation model, explores the home-school cooperation model of mental health education in rural primary and secondary schools, and then proposes the following strategies: (1) establishing cooperative concepts and strengthening cooperative awareness between homes and schools; (2) building a home-school cooperation model so as to expand ways of mental education; (3) taking advantage of modern information technology to create a home-school linkage education.

There are a large number of Pre-Tang annotations in Wen-xuan which was commented by Li Shan, its literary value is extremely high. They can be divided into three types: some single articles’ annotations, Han-shu’s and Chu-ci’s by Wang Yi. The sources of these annotations are various and complicated. It can be inferred through the investigation that these annotations may be originally presented in the copy which Li Shan annotated, rather than cited by Li Shan himself. And the adoption of annotations is an important reason for the existence of a large number of variants in Wen-xuan. Although Li Shan edited according to clear regulations, the original annotations still became very disorderly during the long-term circulation; in addition, it caused a lot of problems on the emendation and use of Wen-xuan. Therefore, it is necessary to explore and collate these old annotations with rigorous approach to philology.

Through the study in Kyujanggak, He Zhuo pointed out that there are some incorrectness in the annotated version of Li Shan, who understood “what Huaji have said” as “people from Guangchuang”. Besides, the sentence, quoted by Zhang Xian, who holds that“Mu hua is from Guangchuang and he works as an civilian officer in Yang House”, is not originated from Qi Zhi, but as an example rewritten by the five scholars.

According to the complication style of Chu Ci (the lyrical ballads), it has been proved that the Nine Debates is authored by Song Yu. Thus, it is unnecessary to make a further study about it. Following Sun Kaidi, however, recently, He Jingshong reaffirmed such opinion that “ Nine Debates is the work of the Han Dynasty”. With the application of the history of Chinese character to identify the time of the ancient works, Mr. He made an investigation about whether the author of Nine Debates (the lyrical poem) is Qu yuan. However, in terms of the preservation of ancient books and geographical differences, the identity of writers and their literary styles, as well as the language style in their literature, it can be found that he overestimated the applicability of this method. Therefore, the opinion about “Nine Debates is the Work of the Han Dynasty” is unacceptable. Also, the conclusion made by Mr. He in such method, at a great extent, still needs further analysis and discussion.

A Study on the Historical Evolution of Xiang Dialect Tone from Its Evolving Patterns

Abstract ( 160 )   PDF(pc) (1611KB) ( 433 )   Save
The evolving patterns of tone are a key to revealing the hierarchy and historical evolution of dialect tone. By analyzing the development of tone patterns, the historical evolution of Xiang dialect tone can be generalized as follows: the rising tone, in its early stages, is classified as voiceless and voiced. And now the phenomenon of semi-voiced becoming voiceless is a result of the influence of common language. Yiyang, a prefecture-level city in northern Hunan Province, has two levels of voiceless falling tone, one of which may be the overlap of southwest Mandarin. And the literary and colloquial levels of voiced falling tone in Changsha, the provincial capital of Hunan, also imply the fact that many areas in Hunan have been greatly affected by a common language that doesn’t distinguish voiced falling tone from voiceless falling tone. Its entering tone is classified into three patterns: 1. In early days, voiceless and voiced of tone are separated (in Jiangyong area). 2. The tone, in its early stages, is influence by a common language which as the same as the falling tone doesn’t differentiate voiced entering tone from voiceless entering tone. 3. The tone is blended with voiced entering tone and voiceless entering tone as a result of the universal coverage by a given common language, which is wildly known in Changyi area.

There are many legends about Dragon Mother in Guangdong and Guangxi provinces, in various places of which the intertextuality can be found in the version of Dragon Mother. Dragon Mother Worship is popular in three places, including Wuzhou area in Guangxi, Daming Mountain area and Guangdong Yuecheng area. The worship is rich with diverse cultural connotations such as totem worship, water god worship, and female reproduction worship, carrying people’s good wishes for good weather, blessing and well-being, reproductive reproduction, etc. The formation of cultural connotations is mainly related to the historical origin of national amalgamation in Guangdong and Guangxi, the hot and rainy natural environment in the area, the water-oriented mode of production and the believer’s mentality. As Dragon Mother Worship plays a connotative role in the development of Dragon Mother Culture, it is good for us to study its multicultural connotation so as to promote the inheritance of Dragon Mother culture and increase the depth of industrial development.
