DONG Bing-yue
Journal of Guangxi Teachers Education University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition). 2019, 55 (3):  2-10.  DOI: 10.16088/j.issn.1001-6597.2019.03.001
Abstract ( 244 )   PDF(pc) (1361KB) ( 839 )   Save
From May 1898 to February 1902, Lu Xun studied in Nanjing for nearly four years, one life experience which was depicted later, in a narrative way of selection and reconstruction, in his preface for Na Han (1922). What determines this kind of narration is his self-presentation as a “writer” and a logic of “his giving up medicine for literature, a life pursuit”. His school life, was restored again in Suo Ji (1926), in which a reading experience of Evolution and Ethics is emphasized, and his image of "pioneer" and "explorer" was highlighted. His interests in medicine, during his study in Nanjing, lies in not only his strong desire to cure his father’s illness, but also his learning of grandfather’s Heng Xun. Lu Xun’s thought of “cultivating people”, his concept of evolution, and his recognition of western medicine, therefore, all grew from his school life in Nanjing.

From “Books of India Excluded” to “Works of Tagore Denied”: A Brief Account of Luxun’s Imagination and Cognition of India
HUANG Qiao-sheng
Journal of Guangxi Teachers Education University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition). 2019, 55 (3):  11-19.  DOI: 10.16088/j.issn.1001-6597.2019.03.002
Abstract ( 305 )   PDF(pc) (1329KB) ( 1180 )   Save
Luxun’s impression of India is formed by his general comparison of world cultures. Such an impression can be traced back to his brief comments on India, and his knowing about Tagore and Gandhi conveyed in his Qin Nian Bi Du Shu (1925), together with his description of India. A low coverage of translation and Luxun’s reading of Indian books, as well as a lack of personal experience, renders his perception of India biased, and even subjective with full imagination. Hence, Luxun’s imagination and cognition of India, we can infer, are time-conditioned and unusual, a lesson which we can learn a lot for a friendly cultural exchanges today.

QU Jing-yi, WANG Zhi-tian
Journal of Guangxi Teachers Education University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition). 2019, 55 (3):  20-29.  DOI: 10.16088/j.issn.1001-6597.2019.03.003
Abstract ( 249 )   PDF(pc) (1348KB) ( 747 )   Save
Tang Shi Yan Yi Pin is a collection of Tang poetry on female compiled by Yang Zhaozhi in the late Ming Dynasty and it consists of four sections namely Ming Yuan (celebrated ladies), Xiang Lian (aromatic cosmetic box), Guan Ji (observing the courtesans) and Ming Hua (notable flowers). It was first published in the 46th year of Wanli period (1618). In the first year of Tianqi period (1621), Min Yishi of Wucheng reedited and republished the anthology, which was re-published by Wu Renzu in the Dingmao year of Kangxi era (1687). Apart from the Wanli and Tianqi editions, Ming Hua Ji has a Japanese version published in the ninth year of Genroku (1696) and its selection of poems is very different from that of Wanli and Tianqi editions. As a collection of Tang poetry on female, Tang Shi Yan Yi is of great value in the research on Tang poetry collections in the Ming dynasty. However, many mistakes in it such as false entitles, overlapping inclusions and fake works prove itself a typical example of commercial publication in the late Ming period. A detailed study of its documents is thus made for revealing some characteristics of a collection Tang poetry as a Ming commercial publication.

A Study of the Surviving Museum Collections of Hanlin Guanke Compilations of the Ming Dynasty
ZHANG Ting-ting
Journal of Guangxi Teachers Education University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition). 2019, 55 (3):  30-37.  DOI: 10.16088/j.issn.1001-6597.2019.03.004
Abstract ( 267 )   PDF(pc) (1313KB) ( 808 )   Save
Hanlin guanke compilations refer to a series of books that were compiled from the test papers of those editors with the Hanlin Academy. As a kind of textbooks for Zhiju, an irregular exam for selecting officials and scholars, such books got published on a large scale in the late Ming Dynasty thanks to the publishing industry's flourishing and social needs.
Later, many got lost with the regime change and the social turbulence thus caused. The survivors, though small in number, carry the intrinsic values and political philosophy of senior civil service training system in the Ming Dynasty, or the Hanlin Bachelor system on the one hand, and tell a real imperial court and society of that dynasty on the other. Hence we can say that they serve as important historical data for our interpretation of the Hanlin Bachelor system and the history of the Ming Dynasty.

Webcast platform has created new space for communication after its breaking the limits of time and space that haunt the traditional models; it has shaped new subject forms as it completely changed the traditional models. Multiple identities of individual, therefore, become legalized and the self-construction and self-deconstruction of the subject are realized. However, the true identity of the subject is constantly blurred, and his/her consuming and performing are continuously symbolized due to the interaction of reality and virtual environment featured by material desire and consumerism. A reasonable reflection, therefore, on the contact between different subjects under the new media technology, could ensure the effective self-construction of the subject in the process of socialization.

On Lefevere’s Criticism of the Capitalistic Spatial Contradiction

Journal of Guangxi Teachers Education University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition). 2019, 55 (3):  54-63.  DOI: 10.16088/j.issn.1001-6597.2019.03.007
Abstract ( 289 )   PDF(pc) (1346KB) ( 523 )   Save
The space of capitalism is one full of contradictions. Such is told 1) primarily by the contradictions that lies in political power space, that is, the contradiction between the pursuit of the quality of life by the public and the pursuit of surplus value by capitalists, as well as the contradiction between the public’s desire for real possession and the pursuit of use value by capitalists; 2) secondarily by the contradiction between its center and edge under the background of urbanization; 3) thirdly by the contradiction between the totality and fragmentation, continuity and discontinuity of the capitalist space. As the space embodies the political attribute, the tool nature, the strategy and the ideology, people living within are unaware of such a controlled space with alienation morbidity and contradiction. The proletariat’s liberation, therefore, cannot do without the space, and the space will certainly become the main battlefield and the new front. To overcome the contradiction in the capitalist space, it is necessary to make a shift from a space of contradiction to a space of difference, and rebuild the self-managed socialist space from the bottom up.

An Analysis of the Community with a Shared Future for Mankind from the Perspective of Marx’s Public Thought
ZHANG Cui, LIU Yu-juan
Journal of Guangxi Teachers Education University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition). 2019, 55 (3):  64-69.  DOI: 10.16088/j.issn.1001-6597.2019.03.008
Abstract ( 187 )   PDF(pc) (1304KB) ( 652 )   Save
Both the concept of‘a community with a shared future for mankind’ and Marx’s publicity thought share similarities in theoretical pursuit and in solving practical problems as they are each concerned about the common interests and destiny of human beings and they all aim at solving the public problems among human society. Marx’s publicity thought provides the ideological resources and theoretical fodder for the ‘community with a shared future for mankind’. To be more specific, the publicity of human and society provides the existential basis for the latter; the public interest beyond national boundaries provides the consensus foundation and value demand for it; and ‘the community of freeman’ provides the guideline and thus is the practical purpose of the latter.

Abstract ( 241 )   PDF(pc) (1345KB) ( 522 )   Save
The mapping mechanism of conceptual metaphor shows that Marx adopted the specific and vivid concepts as source domain such as material, tool, movement and human nature to map the mysterious target domain capital in his Das Kapital, thus revealing that capital has the nature of material fruits, payment tool, circulation and human nature. Meanwhile, metaphor realizes cognitive function, emotional function, aesthetic function and refutation function, on account of which, it not only reveals the veil of capital, and proves the capitalist's plundering the surplus value, but also exposes the positive role of capital.

Regional Impact of Population Flow on Population Ageing: A Comparative Analysis between Guangdong and Guangxi
LIU Junjie, GAO Ying
Journal of Guangxi Teachers Education University (Philosophy and Social Sciences Edition). 2019, 55 (3):  78-87.  DOI: 10.16088/j.issn.1001-6597.2019.03.010
Abstract ( 251 )   PDF(pc) (1354KB) ( 853 )   Save
The large-scale population flow has resulted in an imbalance in age structure in Guangdong and Guangxi. This paper, based on an analysis of the impact of floating population on the population ageing in the two provinces, draws a conclusion that the proportion of the elderly population with household registration in Guangdong is larger than that of the elderly population with permanent residence, while the case in Guangxi is just the opposite; and the degree of ageing for registered populations is similar.Furthermore, a study of the data of the two provinces in 2015 with adoption of the model of population ageing reveals that the floating population slowed down the ageing rate of Guangdong population by 0.3683 years per year, while the same number in Guangxi increased by 0.3283 years per year due to its bigger outflow. In this regard, it is proposed that Guangxi should speed up industrial transformation and upgrading, properly improve the fertility rate and further improve the old-age security system.

The 5269 journal papers published in Comparative Education Research since the adoption of China’s Reform and Opening-up are taken as the objects of our research. Literature metrology and content analysis are employed with indices such as hot topic, author, author affiliation in order to reveal the status quo of the development of comparative education and its trend. The results show that 1) in terms of research hots-pot, “comparative higher education research” enjoys a priority; 2) in terms of research subject, comparative education is circled around a group of core institutions with normal colleges and universities as the backbone of discipline construction; 3) in terms of author, only few are listed as academic elites and high-yielding writers are small in number, to cope with which, the cultivation of core talents should be accelerated; 4) in terms of research object, there lies in two shifts: one from focus on single developed country with one dimension to an all-round study of all countries worldwide, one from a one-way study, a macro view to a two-way approach, both macro and micro running side by side.

An evolution of American policies on poverty alleviation through elementary education presents a constant reflection on equality values. Four shifts, since the 20th century, have been experienced: 1) “nominal equality” employed to guarantee equality on thresh-hold in the early 20th century; 2) “compensatory equality” adopted to stress on equal opportunities in the middle 20th century; 3) “substantial equality” taken to ensure equality in process in the late 20th century; 4) “differential equality” accepted to pursue equality on education achievement in the 21st century.

Stone carving bears a long history, and it has been casting more and more attention. In its long history have been found inscriptions of all shapes serving for varied purposes, thus a role secondary to paper documents. Due to that, literary history is indebted to stone inscription as it has played an important role in cultivating men of letters, spreading and preserving literary works, and made a huge impact on authoring and enriching literary styles. However, stone carvings has not drawn due attention as is told by an inadequate text arrangement, the neglect of their value, the lack of understanding of their overall characteristics, and the lack of systematic and in-depth study. In view of this, the study of stone carving literature is of great significance and is a virgin academic field worthy of great attention.
